That’s right, it happened again. You swore that you wouldn’t let it happen this year, but then there was the kids’ thing, and mom was in the hospital, then the thing with the PTO, and now it’s only a couple days until Christmas and you still have half your shopping list to go. And, while you might be able to grab something quick for the mailman, your mother-in-law will surely notice that you didn’t put enough thought into her present.
But, fear not, we’re here to help.
A Language Arts gift.
Language Arts is actually a husband and wife team who travel the country taking photos of letters. Then you can use the letters to spell out special words for your family. You can stop in to the shop, pick out your letters and either a wall mount or shelf letter holder for a unique, custom gift for anyone.
The gift of theater.
Who wouldn’t love tickets to a great show? And with the Performing Arts Center so close, a classy night out has never been easier. Upcoming shows include Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Riverdance! But if local theater is more your style, the Little Theater has gift certificates available.
Local Craftsmanship
Our little corner of Ohio has some amazing craftsmen (and craftswomen!). You can pick up a ready-made piece of local craftsmanship that will still look like it’s worth a million bucks. For example, at the shop we recently got in some wooden cutting boards made by Scott Edwards and the crew at his wood shop. Of course, you probably won’t have time to get a custom engraving done, but we have some great pre-made boards ready to pick up.
Jewelry.
Yeah, so it can be a little cliche, but it doesn’t have to be. Stop by the shop and see our collection of custom, unique, local jewelry, like these key necklaces by Jessie Edwards. Not only will you get something they’ll love, but something that they know was hand picked just for them.
Gift certificate.
Sometimes known as the laziest Christmas gift ever, with a little thought it can be anything but. Spice it up by picking a local place and making a day of it. Give someone a gift certificate to your favorite local store and offer to take them check it out followed by lunch on you. Local hot spots like OV Harvest, Miller’s Creamery and, of course, McDonald Niklaus Framing (as well as dozens more) all offer gift certificates.
Custom Framing.
We get completely booked up for custom framing well before Christmas, but that can be a good thing! Bring us in a picture of what you want framed, whether it’s three-dimensional objects, a picture or a painting. Or you can bring in a picture of the place this custom framing project will end up in. We’ll make up a quick frame with your picture and a gift certificate in it. That way you’ll have something really classy to wrap up under the tree and they’ll get to custom design their own project. Talk about win/win.
